HTMS Hospitality & Travel Marketing Solutions was founded in 1988 in Milan by Gianni Martino, and he was shortly joined by Marco Innocenti. Both possessed wide experiences in marketing and tourism. The two entrepreneurs introduced to Italy, a new business concept, giving independent  hotels and hotel chains the possibility of fully outsourcing their sales & marketing activity in the country.

In 1993 the subsidiary company HTMS Scandinavia was established in Stockholm to take the company’s G.S.A. (General Sales Agency) concept to  Scandinavia, Finland and the Baltics. Under the guidance and experience of Paul Murcia, the company rose to become the leader in its area, doubling the success of the Italian mother company.

The growth of HTMS continued in Italy through the acquisition of a few travel agencies which allowed it to have a privileged point of view regarding the travel industry. This acquisition represented a profound capacity for investigation into the competitive arena.

With the foundation in 1999 of the  Preferred-DMC division, dedicated in providing representation and sales services to leading inbound operators and destination management companies,  HTMS International consolidated its position as one of the leading GSA’s  in Northern and Southern Italy, thereby releasing a plan of growth for expansion in Europe and worldwide.

Following the opening of the Preferred-DMC division and the growing attention on the international tourism buyers’ market, HTMS released their “Beyond Sales Program” that gave the group unrivalled knowledge and control of the MICE and top F.I.T. buyers around the world.

The new millennium began with the arrival of Emanuele Nasti and the release of a plan for international expansion. The goal being: through HTMS’ offices and the activation of a network of partners, a Global GSA would provide services of Sales & Marketing on a multinational scale.

With the establishment of the Moscow based HTMS Eastern Europe, the Group truly became an international organization, and its immediate success only confirmed the ambitions of the Management. The network expanded through licensing agreements signed with prestigious companies such as T.M.I. Prague (HTMS Central Eastern Europe) and ProAir (HTMS Germany).

The continuous evolution of the market, being accurately read and interpreted, has produced a series of upgrades and adaptations to the methodological approach that HTMS has always given to its sales activity. This is tested by the holding company in Italy, and consequently, has been steadily released to the subsidiaries for the benefit of their constituents.

Among these, are particular highlights of the Quality Management program that has contributed to a more effective positioning of customers, HTMS on-target markets and the loyalty program “Your Key to the World!” (currently used only in Italy).
Since the launch in 2008 in Italy, our innovative event concept “Get the Key” has become a must-do event for all customers of HTMS Italy.

Since 2009, another line of business has opened through the promotion of National and Regional Tourist Boards. The natural propensity of HTMS to the sale itself is increasingly appreciated by entities with public participation. They immediately realise the extraordinary accuracy of HTMS’ intentions, which produce results that are much more measurable than traditional advertising campaigns.

Now the management concentrates its efforts in opening new offices in the Americas and Asia in order to consolidate the network of partners through licensing agreements worldwide. As proof of its extraordinary penetration in the International market demand of tourism services, HTMS is a partner of the world’s leading organizers of trade fairs and Industry events: IMEX, ITB and REED TRAVEL EXHIBITIONS have given HTMS the delicate task of selecting and managing the Hosted Buyers Programs of their most important events, from Frankfurt to Las Vegas and from Barcelona to Dubai and Singapore.
